Twin-Star International Posts Record Breaking Sales in August

Delray Beach, FL., Sept. XX, 2013 – Led by new product introductions and customer service initiatives, Twin-Star posted record sales in August 2013 by shipping more products in a single month than any other time in the company’s successful 17-year history.  The new record is 11% higher than the company’s previous best.

“Our strategy is pretty simple – we want to bring aspirational and innovative designs to affordable price points, delivered with a level of quality that is typically reserved for more expensive products,” stated Robert Cohen, Twin-Star International’s president and CEO. “This plan has resonated well with our retailer base as they tend to be the leaders who recognize and know the true meaning of quality and style.  Their sales efforts, along with the dedication and hard work of our employees to deliver exceptional customer service, continue to push us to new heights and motivate us to bring new, exciting products to market.”

Contributing to Twin-Star’s record breaking sales in August was the addition of the innovative home office line, the expansion of their premium speaker bar multi-function media centers, and the introduction of their latest infrared electric fireplace insert – proven to warm rooms up to 1,000 square feet.

“Clearly we are not just a fireplace company anymore,” added Cohen, referring to the company’s industry leading position in electric fireplaces.  “To that end we will be launching an exciting new brand this year called Twin-Star Home, helping to answer a common question we hear from our consumers – where can I find more Twin-Star products?”

Brian Brigham, Twin-Star’s director of marketing and public relations, went on to explain “the Twin-Star Home brand will be reserved for our more innovative and stylish products and will help our devoted customer base easily identify exciting new furnishings for their home.  No longer will they have to hunt for other Twin-Star products, they can now ask for them by name.”

Brigham added, “our goal of increasing visibility and positioning is not only on the shelf, but within the trade and consumer press which helped contribute to our record-breaking sales. In addition to the trades, we have also placed a larger focus on our consumer reach by tapping into the social media arena and having many of our products featured in internet blog reviews while building an audience on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Our editorial coverage has also grown substantially within national newspapers and consumer magazines and websites. The next step for Twin-Star Home Furnishings is to continue to expand our consumer exposure with our first-ever national television campaign and to be included on design oriented television shows starting this fall with Love it or List it.”

Cohen continued, “our success could not have been achieved without the help of a very talented team and the gracious loyalty of our customers. I would like to say thank you to all of them and I am looking forward to a bright future working together.”

Autumn Mantel Decorating Tips

With Autumn just around the corner, we want to show how we like to decorate our mantels for this time of the year. All the items shown in this post were purchased at local stores such as HomeGoods and through an online bulk wholesaler, saveoncrafts.com

Our inspiration for this season is nature. Using items made from organic elements and pops of color in Autumn hues to brighten the room.

Here is how we accomplished the look, with a few shopping tips to help make your decorating fun and stress free.

* Shopping tip: Before you go shopping, search online for rooms, styles and decorating ideas that inspire you, on websites. Pinterest is one of our favorite sites  that can help you create a visual shopping list so you can design a similar look.

With nature, plants and vegetables, like pumpkins as our inspiration, we brought the outdoors in using animals, fall colors and natural branches to style this mantel.

** Layered Look Tip: To create our layered look, we used items of different shapes and sizes and simply leaned them on the wall against one another to create this desired effect. The most important difference is the height of the items because it is the key to creating the multi-dimensional look on top of the mantel.

Some key elements of Autumn are harvest, leaves changing colors and seasonal foods. We tied these into our fall decorating theme by using items that represent the colors and natural elements of the season. For instance, ceramic and natural reed pumpkins in fall colors, fall foliage and an owl made from pinecones.

We continued to build on our theme by adding décor made from natural materials. We incorporated pumpkins made from dried reeds, a grapevine wreath and a distressed wooden shutter, to add to the rustic feel.

The core color scheme that we went with focused mainly on earth tones. Using varying shades of brown, green, orange and beige, we were able to tie our decorations into the seasonal theme.

** Tip: Decorating the area around the mantel bottom helps to complete the look. The bundle of wheat, the pumpkin made from dried pinecones and reeds added the finishing touches to the Autumn style.

Casual and Comfortable

To show a slightly more casual look, we recycled some of the same accessories from the previous set to decorate our corner mantel. By adding a few new pieces of decor and changing the layout of the room we achieved a new look and feel. Decorate your mantel to reflect your style by incorporating pieces that you associate the season with.

An old metal tin, burlap-covered boxes and a wooden star helped us build on our casual theme. In addition we added an antique looking clock, a turkey to tie in Thanksgiving and a different candle to complete this look.

Twin-Star International Home Furnishings debut on HGTV’s Love it or List it

Delray Beach, FL., Aug 26, 2013 - Twin-Star International is once again in the limelight. This time they are partnering with HGTV’s popular Love it or List it, the internationally renowned real estate and renovation television show. Over several episodes this Fall, viewers will see a variety of  Twin-Star International’s Tresanti® home entertainment furniture, ClassicFlame® electric fireplaces and LUXE Bath Works® vanities and mirrors as they are featured in the TV show’s newly renovated homes.
“We are very excited to be working with Big Coat Productions and their television show Love it or List it,” stated Brian Brigham, Twin-Star director of marketing and public relations. “As I am a huge fan of the show myself, I find our partnership to be a great achievement for Twin-Star as our high quality products have been hand selected by the interior designers of one of the most popular home remodeling television shows. Watched by millions of viewers, the Love It or List it fans range from first time home buyers to celebrities such as now-retired U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, who revealed to the New York Times that Love It or List It is her favorite television show.”
In each episode, interior designer Hilary Farr and realtor David Visentin compete to help homeowners decide whether to stay in their current home or sell it and buy a new one. While Visentin shows the homeowners tempting houses currently for sale as part of his effort to convince them to move, Farr shows homeowners that within their budget she can transform their worn-out house into a wonderful new home to convince them to stay. Love it or List it is shown on the HGTV channel on Monday nights.
Just a small taste of what Twin-Star products viewers will see starts with the Tresanti® Dakota 48” home entertainment console in a Carmel Oak finish. The Arts and Crafts style console has adjustable storage shelves along with easy wire management and ventilation behind tempered glass doors. To warm up their plans, the designers chose the ClassicFlame® Serendipity electric fireplace that hangs on the wall. It has a large viewing area and features Twin-Star’s patented SpectraFire blue flame technology. The touch screen function indicator operates a digital thermostat, timer, realistic L.E.D. flame effect and a heater that is capable of warming rooms up to 400 square feet.  In addition, the fireplace has backlights that can be turned on to give the fireplace a floating effect and can be changed from amber to blue or set to an auto changing combination of both colors.
In the bathroom, viewers will see Luxe Bath Works® Raines 30” wide high-gloss white vanity with polished nickel-plated hardware. The cabinet has two doors and two drawers that are ideal for organizing everything from make-up to hairdryers and is topped by a Carrara marble countertop. In contrast, the Axel Vanity has a 40” wide faux-alligator upholstered cabinet with chrome nailhead trim and a solid Carrara marble countertop with integrated basin. It has an open display shelf below a large storage drawer. Each vanity has a matching double beveled mirror to easily finish the bathroom in eye-catching style.

Happy Birthday America!

Independence Day Mantel Decorating Tips

America’s birthday is July 4th and it’s time to get into the spirit of the holiday. Here are some decorating tips for your ClassicFlame mantel. All the items shown here were purchased at local stores such as Target and HomeGoods.

The American Flag is our inspiration for decorating these mantels. When we think about the American Flag, the first thing that comes to mind is the bold colors red, white & blue and shapes like stars and stripes.

Here are a few tips to help make the process quick and easy.

* Shopping tip: Before you go shopping, search online for decorating ideas on websites like Pinterest, this will help you generate your shopping list.

We took stars of mixed materials, shapes, and sizes then spread them out on the wall in a random pattern.

Tip: We used command strips to create this look without damaging our walls.

To mimic the patterns of the stars and stripes, we took a red tray and put some clear, rectangular glass vases and partially filled them with white sand then topped them off with red and blue candles. A white wood star completes the stars and stripes design while the candles enhance the color scheme.

We continued to build on the theme by adding a distressed signs that display the message of the holiday.

The build on the color scheme, we placed some red, white, and blue candles in varying heights and textures on a white candleholder.

Tip: If you plan on lighting the candles avoid getting candles that have varying scents. By keeping all the candles unscented or only have one scented candle, you don’t have to worry about having the scent overpower the room.

Decorating doesn’t just have to be on the mantel, try bringing the attention down to the hearth. We stuck with the theme and filled a bucket with some more of the decorative white sand and placed some mini flags.

Shopping Tip: You can find decorative sand at your local craft or fabric store.

Then we added this stars and stripes birdhouse to complete the look.

For a more Classic Countryside look, we added some patriotic bears.

Here is a close up of the changed mantel.

Tip: If you want to get the whole family involved in the decorating, find holiday related art projects to do with the kids then proudly display their art on the mantel. Websites like Pinterest are good for finding these types of activities for the kids.

Here we have taken a different mantel and added a few new pieces to create a similar look. We used the same stars from before, but replaced the center star with an all-American bottle cap sign. We then removed the red tray to give this mantel a more contemporary look.

By using old glass soda bottles as vases to display red gerbera daisies, we were able to carry the theme of the bottle cap throughout the design. White carnations in a cobalt blue glass vase complete the look.

* Shopping Tip: Fresh flowers are best, but if you don’t want to use them you can find a variety of silk flowers at your local dollar store or craft store.
